Let's end this year with a lovely news! (: My story is finally printed! If you're into mythology and folklore you might like it: The "Agana" (also called Anguana) is a mythological creature similar to the roman/greek nymph, that appears often in the oral tradition of alpine folklore.

A post about HAPPY things!

I hardly ever share these photos here, on my blog, while I put them on my facebook official page instead, so I thought it would be a good idea to make a post about lovely things in the last few months (:

I've been to an awesome festival, called Trezzo Folk and Fantasy, near Milan. Lots of trees, old medieval ruins and friendly people with mead!

My work has been published in a few megazines: The Celtic Connection, a Vancouver based newspaper, and Circle Magazine.

Many people, with great surprise, asked me if they could tattoo on themselves Yoni. One of the most gratifying feelings is seeing that someone loved your art so much and tattooed it on themselves! (Photo by Digitalia Shy on DA).
Aaaand I hit 1000 followers of Facebook, you guys are so amazing!

Godric Gryffindor

"Bold Gryffindor, from wild moor...".
Godric Gryffindor, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, said to have praised courage, determination and strength of heart above all other qualities.

I know many of you were waiting for the Four Founders to be complete, so here's the last one! (:

Moth Fay

Who said fairies were sparkling harmless creatures..? : P

Song of Pearl

“With a hole in her chest
and a pearl on her tongue
she teaches me how
to web
my fingers.”

~ Song of pearl, Rockettothesky

Hogwarts bookmarks

Hogwarts houses bookmarks with cute little acorns! :) You can find them on my etsy shop and even costumize them! In case you muggles are still uncertain about Yule gifts :P

A mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown.

"American Horror Story: Coven" - related

...who's the baddest witch in town?! :D A portrait of Marie Laveau, from American Horror Story Coven (Angela Bassett). She was born in 1794 (died in 1881) and was a Louisiana Creole practitioner of Voodoo renowned in New Orleans. The symbol on her hand is a "veve", a religious symbol used in haitian voodoo. This one in particular depicts two snakes, and it's connected to the Loa (god) Damballa, which is associated with creation, source of life, the water element and the ancestors.

Alabaster Octopus

An alabaster art-nouveau-ish octopus, on commission.

Snow-White and Rose-Red

Step by step.
Photoshop CS5 and Wacom Bamboo.

This is one of my favourite tales of the Grimm brothers!
According to Drewermann, Rose Red and Snow White are mythical personifications of the warm and the cold part of the year, and two fundamental aspects of the psyche, extroversion and introversion. The sisters, despite being so different, are never in conflict: they complete each other, share everything, and live in perfect harmony with the animals of the forest.

When the Veil gets thinnes

Don't you freak out when your dog starts barking at nothing? Or when you cat stares into thin air? Because I do.
